    We took my mother to the Atrium Cafe for her birthday and what a treat! The Atrium is adorable, with eclectic decorations that are just as enjoyable as the food. Everything we ordered was amazing. We will definitely be back for a special occasion or any occasion the next time we're in town visiting my folks.

    First of all, the decor and ambiance is off da hook. It really transports you to the 1890s. The customer service is as old-fashioned and charming as the restaurant itself. The owner comes by and takes the time to chat with everyone. It doesn't matter what you order, as long as you get the baked ice cream sandwich for dessert. Two freshly baked GIANT cookies, sander's fudge...need i say more? Be warned, it easily feeds 4-5.

    This gets a four star review from me for three reasons: the decor, the staff, and the dessert. With wonderful 1920s decor, this place is totally charming. If you sit in the atrium, there's old movie theater seats at your table and black and white movies playing. The owner wanders around and checks on the tables while the classic music swells. It's wonderful. (Granted, there are still Christmas decorations up, but hey.) We just went for dessert, but it was great! There were a lot of options on the menu, so it took us a second to assess! My banana split was more epic than I could have realized. I will attach a photo. Even the waitress said she might have been a little overzealous with the whipped cream. But even with that aside, there was three giant scoops of ice cream and all the fixins. She also made sure to ask about adding nuts. As someone with a nut allergy, it was appreciated. Dessert was delicious and we'll be coming back for lunch or dinner at some point!

    Stopped in for dessert for my first visit. The owner greeted us, joking around and being very friendly. The staff was wonderful and the bumpy cake was out of this world. I would like to try more of their menu next time.

    My family and I have been regulars for 5 years. Rocky is the Owner and Host at the Atrium and visits EVERY table to ensure that his customers are enjoying the Victorian charm of his restaurant and it's homemade food. They have daily specials, knowledgeable and friendly wait staff. The old-world charm is warm and inviting and the food is presented well. They are most famous for their version of Sanders Bumpy cake. Gayle's attention to detail and skill at making the sweet treats extra special is the reason we keep coming back for more.

    Absolutely fantastic dinner at the Atrium Cafe. All their food is made fresh, no cans in this kitchen, great wait staff, chef visited our table and owner was very friendly and approachable. The decor is 1920s style right down to the silent movie playing in the atrium dining room.

    Passing through Port Huron, we wanted ice cream. Pleasantly surprised at the character of this place. Very quaint. We ended up sitting down and ordered a banana split. The manager was very welcoming. We will definitely be stopping back to try lunch or dinner.

    Someone told us about this restaurant, and we were not disappoint. All four of us loved our meals and the ice cream for dessert. I had meatloaf, my husband had a hamburger with onion rings, and the other two people had Chicken Parmesan. The ice cream was great, and I thought my strawberry ice cream tasted homemade. They gave very generous portions with the exception of the onion rings. The service was great, the decor was very cute and eclectic. The owner was very interesting as he told us the history of the restaurant and the Victorian home next door.

    Cute little mom and pop owned atrium style restaurant! Excellent service and very tasty food. Even with my sore throat I was able to enjoy all the yummy goodness of both the veggie casserole and the fish tacos. The slaw that came with the tacos was amazing - black beans, corn, peppers, onion, and a chipotle like vinaigrette - yum! I liked that the fish tacos had melted cheese on the crispy baked tortillas (they came on a skewer!) how creative and also this kept the taco from getting mushy and breaking before I could eat it! Vintage movie theater seats were a cute touch to this very inviting little European looking cafe. Highly recommend!

    A cozy cafe. Ok, a loaded Mexican baked potato for $8.95? I'll try it and let you know. Nice, light background music, makes me feel like I'm watching an episode from the 1930s Little Rascals. Very nice decor, lots of re-purposed woodwork throughout. Tin ceilings, lots of old framed pictures on the walls. Wooden-top tables with wrought iron chairs, on a carpeted floor. I did not venture into the ice cream parlour, nor the other dining room off of the main entrance. Very nice! Oh, and that baked potato was a delight to devour. It was a meal all by itself, with bits of steak, green pepper and onion all covered with a queso cheese sauce, nicely stacked in, on, and all around the potato. Yeah, I'd do it again!

    Came for an early lunch and were warmly greeted by the owners, Gayle and Rock. Since it was Taco Tuesday, we had the Fish Tacos and they were exceptional. I order Fish Tacos often and these were some of the best I have ever had. We loved sitting in the Atrium full of light. After a brief tour of the highlights of the decor, I was given a helpful overview of the area by Gayle and set off to explore my first time in Port Huron. I returned for a mid-afternoon snack which consisted of the general manager's recommendation of the Turkey Club finished off with the Bumpy Cake. I ended up joining another interesting couple at their table in the Atrium with lively conversation. Gayle surprised me by making a few phone calls to make arrangements for me to have an unbelievable accommodation for an overnight stay in the area. Anyone hoping to find a unique dining experience and support local people serving incredible food in a stimulating environment should not miss stopping here.

    Wonderful ambiance! The owner, Rocky is always in house. I wanted a small version of a banana split-- and they made me a custom version! Great customer service! Last year on our birthday (my daughter and I have the same birthday) Rocky sang us "happy birthday" it was so awesome!

    Beautiful interior. Food is good & they'll even make you something if it's not on the menu. The bumpy cake is super rich & will take care of your sweet tooth for a week! I would have given 5 stars if the service weren't hit or miss on friendliness.

    Three words: fish taco Tuesdays. My husband and I go back for the great service and cool ambience. They even have silent movies playing in the atrium portion, with their theatre seats. The bumpy cake is also a must!

    Came here after going to the beach all day. Originally came for ice cream and then decided to have dinner and maybe desert. Went inside and it smelled like grease and we literally waited over 5 minutes and no one came to great us or take us to a table. There were a few tables of people. None of which had their food. we saw people standing around in the back but no one even acknowledged us. We ended up leaving before anyone even knew we were there. Word to the owners, your guests shouldn't have to wait 10 minutes for someone to even know they were there. Two words... Never again.

    What a great place to gorge on ice cream specialties. The restaurant is a museum in many ways from the ceiling to the floors. We were treated very kindly even though we just wanted the ice cream to go. They allowed us to tour around while waiting for our order. There were several people there enjoying their lunches. The Atrium is amazing with the gardens outside the windows. The ice cream (I had Peanut Butter Cup and my friend had a chocolate soda) was delicious and really had that homemade flavor. A great stop on the way through.

    Delicious food, cute decor. Love coming here with my husband on random little dates. The food is good, the chocolate cake is delicious and I love looking at all the decor. They also have pretty good Vegan options (my mother law really enjoyed her food, she's vegan). It does close early! Check before you go!

    Fantastic meal, great server, wonderful decor. We really enjoyed watching Buster Keaton while eating lunch. Definitely worth the easy detour off the interstate.

    I was here briefly, and this place was pretty okay. The only thing that I had off the menu was ice cream, which was pretty good. The staff was friendly, fast, and courteous. I really like the early 20th century architecture/theme that this place has going on - very comfortable.

    We came in for the ice cream & dessert. As soon as you walk in, its as though you've passed through a time portal and stepped back into the 1920s. The layout is eclectic, a moment of escape from the mundane, something refreshing. You're already blown away and you haven't even ordered anything! We were greeted by a very cheery attendant and ordered the desserts. Short wait and had the wait been 10x longer, it still would have been well worth it. The turtle sundae was magnifico! My mouth was watering as my eyes beheld the classic presentation. Ice cream melting and drizzling over the edge of the long fluted serving glass. The flavor --- oh man! The fresh sticky caramel, the buttery whipped cream and smooth vanilla ice cream together was everything you crave in a sundae. My last spoon was as flavorful as the first. Definitely recommend and will definitely stop in again!

    FANTASTIC place. Quaint and relaxed. The food was very tasty - even though the chef doesn't like to use salt. Very fresh tasting. My daughter had the Salmon and I had the Chicken Wellington. The natural flavors of the ingredients really expressed throughout the meal. Afterwards we enjoyed a Caramel Sundae that was a delight - enough that I ate half of it to my daughters surprise. Highly recommended and we look forward to visiting next year when we get into town. Thanks to the owner for coming over and asking about our experience.

    What a little gem in Port Huron! We came across this place when looking for a place to grab lunch before a wedding, and walked into a unique dining experience. From the period decor to the fun outfits with hats worn by all wait staff, this is a place not to be missed. It's a lot of fun to "step back in time" while having good food. The whole place, even the bathrooms, is adorned with memorabilia from times past. The corned beef sandwich I had was tasty, and the potato salad was better than most restaurant, and on par with family recipes. Overall, this is a destination restaurant that is not to be missed.

    My friends and I just stopped in to have some ice cream but we ended up eating dinner there too! This place is so cool, the help is so fun, and the food is out of this world. Everything is homemade and you can tell! I ordered stuffed French toast, which was filled with honey cream cheese and blueberries that melted in your mouth! My friend ordered shrimp scampi linguine, which was divine and we shared the two entrees, weird combo I know. After we ordered a brownie supreme with ice cream that was just simply heavenly. I love this place so much, it became a new favorite instantly! We already made plans when to come back (:

    The Atrium is truly a labor of love. Both of food and of an era. The decor is amazing and artful. You will love the idea of stepping back in time with your dining. The lunch is great and I would recommend having anything that you can get the potato salad with. The salads are amazing. I was able to have my daughter's birthday tea party at the Atrium. They were gracious, creative and a dream to work with. The Atrium is a real attribute to history and to dining in Port Huron.

    A step back in time... but the food... is very tasty and up to date! Part of the pleasure of eating here is the decor and the attentive service. (The servers are dressed up in vintage uniforms. They reminded my lunch buddy, Tricia, and me of Thomas Edison in his early years.) If you love antiques like I do, then you will have plenty to look at here. I've only been here for lunch, but would love to try out the dinner menu in the future as well. A "small single scoop" strawberry sundae made my eyes pop so be sure to save room if you plan to end your meal with a bit of something sweet!

    Walk into the Atrium and you'll feel like you've stepped through the wardrobe! The interior of this Port Huron gem has been lovingly filled with architectural wonders, many culled from 1920's era mansions slated for demolition. You'll find huge archways set into the walls, wonderful old doors used as wainscoting, and antiques and ephemera galore. A second room has a deco look and boasts loads of windows, restored movie house seats, and so as not to take itself too seriously, a giant fake parrot! Our server was gracious and attentive, and one of the owners even came out to introduce himself, pleasantly chatting with us about some of the acquisitions. His wife/business partner later gave us a mini tour of the ice cream parlor and takeout area at the back. The food was fantastic, prepared with the same TLC that they've obviously put into the decor. My veggie casserole was hearty and delicious, a soup and a meal in one! My cohorts ordered the salmon dinner and meatloaf, and everyone raved. Portions are large, sides well-paired, and flavors abound without relying too much on butter and other fats. I can't wait to go back-more menu choices beckon! Besides, there's no way your eyes can devour all there is to see in one visit. May this labor of love thrive on!

    This was my first time to the Atrium and it will definitely be my last. I was recommended to attend here by a friend and I have to say I was disappointed. The service was lame and also the owner was very aggressive. Constantly at our table and talking up items on the menu. Very annoying. I would like to eat in peace without someone hovering over my table. It was so bad having to deal with him along with our waitress, when she decided to show up. I will never go here again.

    Had lunch recently. The food was extremely fresh and you could tell it was homemade. The chicken salad croissant was solid. The ambiance is what you get here. I could spend time just walking around the restaurant reading the old newspaper clipping. This place is a treassure trove of historic Bluewater information. I found myself reading the article about Port Huron High from the 20's or 30's in the man's bathroom. :-) Only keeping them from a five star is the service. Slow. But when we were there we definitely brought the median age down. Seems like a senior's hangout. I still like it though.

    We randomly found this online when looking to head up to Port Huron because the reviews sounded pretty good and the name of the place sounded fun. And from the outside, it looked like it too, next to a garden and old Victorian style home. As soon as we walked in, the place was full of senior citizens and families, and the room felt a little stuffy. We waited for someone to greet us since there wasn't a sign to seat yourself. A server kindly told us to go ahead and seat ourselves. We sat in the "atrium" area, to the north part of the building, overlooking the garden. We sat down with the non theater seats since all those tables were taken along the window. We waited a good 10 minutes at least before we got greeted what seemed like the owner, BUT he recovered well by thanking us for our patience. And explained that apparently he was short staffed this morning. I could totally understand because I have worked in food service. So he was doing the best in the situation, without trying to make excuses, and he was not a jerk about it. We ordered the quesadilla salad with steak and also tuna salad. Both were generous portions and tasty that we had to get a to go box despite coming in hungry. The tuna salad had a nice presentation, served over romaine leaf, and came with sliced tomatoes and cucumbers. The steak on the other salad was marinated and tender. The saute vegetables then topped with cheese. A cheese quesadilla came on the side with a salsa ranch dressing. The manager checked on us as well as our server, at good paces. Overall, the experience turned out well, and look forward to letting others know about this cute place. Next time we will have to try their ice cream, but we were just stuffed with the salads. The ambiance and bathroom cleanliness were As.

    Love the decor. You can tell that someone put there heart and soul into this place. It's a welcoming environment with plenty to look at. The service is sincere, unscripted. The loaded potato soup is delicious, with bacon crumbles, cheese and fresh green onion. I ordered a BLT, the bacon was thick and cooked well. This was my second trip and each time everything has been great!
